North Scotland FF/FS Aberdeen/Shire meet

Ok this is my suggested route. Some really nice roads/scenery and plenty of facilities available.

I am, as always, open to any suggestions so have a look at the maps below, and let me know your thoughts folks!

Meeting at: ASDA Bridge of Dee, Sat 23rd April - 11.30am for a 12noon start!

After this we have options on where to go. The link below is the final run, from just north of Ellon up to Pennan. Through some nice wee villages, the drive here is quite nice!

So in a nutshell, here's what I'd suggest.

Meet at ASDA, Bridge of Dee, aim to set off at 12noon sharp. Along south Deeside road to Banchory. Really nice drive. Then over the carin o mount, back to the A90.

Then we can either go over to Stonehaven for a quick lunch or head straight up the A90 and set off for Pennan.

There are things we can stop and see on the way, if folk want to factor this in that won't be a problem!

On the final leg of the trip, we pass through the village of Mintlaw. We could stop off at Aden Country Park. Theres a few nice ruins n stuff there, plus a wee museum if anyones wanting a look around? It's literally about 2 seconds off of the beaten path..

As always, open to ideas and suggestions!

Now updated the post guys, new date too - this is now happwning on 23rd April (Saturday) with a 12noon kick off!

Quick update as only a few days to this!


Our first meeting point is ASDA bridge of Dee - 11.30 for a 12pm start. We'll be on the UPSTAIRS car park - I'll try and dangle the banner over the edge, but in case not we'll be at the nearest corner of the car park to the ramp (so looking towards the ski slope - we'll be behind the banners you see in this pic...hopefully!)

Directions (for the southerners)

As you exit the A90, head over the Bridge of Dee (it's the second exit form the roundabout) You should see ASDA in front of you. Take a left at the next roundabout, then right at the next one. You really can't miss it!

Should the weather turn crap on Saturday I've a backup plan, including 10 pin bowling if there's interest. But hopefully the weather will be good! Hopefully...
