Hello All and thank you to A&B for yar help.
Like all good or bad tales they need to be told and this is no different.
For those not sure what has happened, I took my poor Fiat for an MOT to a car doctors...a clinic for cars if you will, here in Aberdeen.
The MOT cost the guts of £500, about $800 and being 10 years old it needed a raft of stuff done, top of the list a new catalytic converter and brakes and springs and shocks!!!!!
Problem 1. the engine management light comes on, 'what's this?' I ask myself.
The mechanic plugs in some box gizmo into a secret panel, it gives a fault reading just like a postcode/zipcode here in the UK-01463.
Now I always worry when professionals scratch their heads and say 'Mmm!'.
'Nothing to worry about' says my little grease covered mechanic fixer, scratching his head,
'I've not heard of 01463 but a good run will fix that!'
Well I do this, driving down the road called, 'This is B**llsh*t Avenue' at least I can say I have given it a go when I go back, and sure enough I do.
BUT on the way there-'PING' a red brake light comes and 'THUMP' a bang from the back.
Armed with a list of new stuff they take the poor car back in, rev the 'B*lls' of it to clear the orange management light
..nothing,
then take it for God knows how many emergancy stops to get the red brake light to come on
...nothing,
and to top it all claim they had three...yes THREE hefty greasey types in the back of the car and just managed to get the THUMP which they state was the exhaust banging the car underside!, other than that no problems, WHAT A LOAD OF CR*P!!!
'Is there enough brake fluid?, would that make the light come on?' I ask,
'Yes and yes' says he..
'Isn't it strange how these faults were not there BEFORE your lot worked on it!'
......silence...
'nope we couldn't find anything!'....
'Oh'
he adds,
'the management light was a lambda sensor, we replaced that at our own expense'
WOOOPEE, bring out the drums, marching bands,
AT THEIR EXPENSE... Fecking barstewards!!
And that good friends sums up my dealing with these people, they stick their heads in a bucket, close their eyes and problems are not there!
So I am F*CKED! what can I do, they fail to recognise there are problems, so they don't exist.
Well dear reader to finish off my tale of woe, the exhaust place I visited say there is plenty of room so it is not the exhaust, so God knows what it is and for the brake light, yes you have guessed it not enough brake fluid!
they replaced my brakes and let the car go out with little to no brake fluid!!
So I leave you with this cautionary warning, if your car need a checked up or fixed at a car doctor,a clinic for cars DON'T go to any in Aberdeen!!
