Yep, thought of all of those. Like you say the Rover is very old looking now. Seen a nice GT-4 with only 35k on the clock, but ten years old. I've had a Calibra before and although it was only a 2.0 16v, the 2.5 isn't usually compared favourable with similar cars. The Integra Type-R is a good car, but only performs well if you rev the nuts off it all the time. Also considered the Mazda MX-6, but it's too heavy and slow.

I have a 97 Calibra turbo 4X4 and it's really fast, then again it does have a lot of mods to produce the 378hp that it has, and it is nice looking . How about the audi rs6, or a VW Jetta VR6 or GTI or maybe Passat V8/W8

The RS6 is a bit more then that, but it is REALLY fast. You can find 99 W8's in germany for around 8000 euros so i don't think that's far off!!
