Book into a travelodge somewhere like Dundee (or Aberdeen) and just head up after the Fast Five meet?

Just been google maping.
So from Braehead to Travelodge Dundee approx 1hr 48 using M8 & M90
Then from Travelodge Dundee to Pennan approx 2hr 54 along the A90

Book myself into Travelodge, get up there at who knows what time, grab a couple hours sleep, then up to Pennan later in the morning, should be fun

Just to re-itterate again. There's no way it's three hours Dundee to Penna.

Pennan is maybe an hour north of Aberdeen, Aberdeen's an hour from Dundee.

was just away to say, me and daz were just over 2 and a half hours to macduff which is marginally further than to pennan, that time also included about 15 minutes of stoppages and 10 minutes of traffic around aberdeen itself, i would say 2hrs 20 to pennan is realistic (and legal)

Cheers for that Mark.
You coming to Pennan for the meet??

Hey Andi, as Martyn says Pennan is only a couple of hours north of Dundee but if this is going to be a problem I'm sure we can change things to accommodate those who wish to attend. It's not as if we're currently inundated by northerners wanting to meet up.

Right, just to update you's - the release date of this has been moved forward by a week to Friday the 22nd. Now, it's up to you's all of course, but I'm fine with leaving it to the date I'd mentioned originally. Might work out better even if we're not pushing our way in amongst the usual new release scrum.

Haven't heard anything in terms of times nor whether it's to be shown at the IMAX but will keep everyone posted :)

Right, 2 weeks till the meet and I figure I may as well ask who's all still up for this? I'm thinking it'd be best to go to the Braehead Odeon as it's fairly central and easy to get to as well as having various restaurants and the like nearby. Was thinking Chinese buffet could be a possibility and there's also bowling/pool there, so those are options too.

Driving wise, it's up to the majority really. We could treat this meet more as a social rather than one about the cars if you's like and I think it depends if we want to make a whole day of it or just have it from the early evening onwards.

So, copy and paste and add suggestions at will :)

Well, I think my mate Ally will be able to make it even if he does have a Laguna with him. Would like others to come of course, but I'm guessing a lot of people want to indulge in some wedding that's apparently happening the same day

Anyway though, I'm finishing work at 5 (I hope) so couldn't be a whole day thing for me anyways, but say from 6pm onwards I should be available :) As goes with other meets if anyone wants to come along, even if it's a last minute thing, check on here or fb or message me on either/both to see where we are. As has been said by others, it looks like it's a decent instalment of the franchise :)

A French Car?? in amongst Fiat's?? Bah... (LOL) 2nd time Ally's been to a FS Meet.

Indeed and it's pretty much the same colour as the old Pug was - dark blue btw. Hopefully it'll be more reliable than that was at the last meet he was at  ...

...but anyway, as mentioned in the Media Section's Fast and Furious 5 topic, I think it could well be a good idea to change the date of this meet to the following day - Saturday 30th April. That is unless anyone has any objections of course :)

Either way, the meet will start around tea time (because of my lovely work) so shouldn't be any earlier than 6-6:30pm on the day. Can meet either at the Braehead itself or somewhere nearby, whichever's more convenient.

Aaah yes the only Pug 106 I know of with Knight Rider Lights in the grill.....
Dodgy electrics, espically when a fuse blew because he hadn't shut the boot propely, so while you & Red Tjet floored it from the Quay to Braehead I slowed down & put my rear fog on for Ally to follow as it was pishing down & he had NO Light's & NO wipers working.

Anyways Braehead's fine for me nxt Saturday, then maybee Bowling or something like that afterwards??
