if i was to replace the 6x9's. i would want to put in a pair of 8" speakers (not subs).
what ones would you use and were can i get them from.

What is your desired effect? My interpretation of your setup is that the 6x9's are there for boot open running rather than up front sound. Is this correct?
I don't think you really need an 8" as you have the 12" for bass.

yep it is for boot opening running as i am giong to put a dvd in the boot lid next and have the sound going though the H-unit.

What you want is either some good 6.5" coaxials or better still some 6.5" components. You've got enough bass so what you need is clear mid and top which 6x9's have never really been able to do.
What freq are the 12's x-over'd at?
An 8" would be good (there are some REALLY nice but terrible expensive 8" mids) but then you'd really need a 4" mid as well and then you are getting into active territory and more amps.
What makes/models are your fronts?

The Subs are crossed over at 40hz...
The fronts are Mac Audio dynamics 2x13's (70wrms), and also Magnats X-centrics 2x16's (120wrms).

If i'm reading the kicker page correctly, it says the low pass is between 60 & 120hz, but you said it was crossed over at 40hz ?
Isn't 40hz a little low Tom ?

That is a tad low, maybe if he was running 8"s for midbass as well.
I'd say 60-80Hz crossover. The 6.5"'s will be really struggling at volume.
