I need a new amp
It needs to power 2 x 8" subs (not sure of watts off hand)
I have £50 (not a lot I know
Im probably looking at second hand due to my budget

Can anyone either, suggest a decent budget brand name that I should be looking for (JBL seems expensive for the power they provide) or pick one from here that seems half decent...

GTO-2000 Amplifier [JBL-GTO-2000] RRP£89.99 Product Features 2 x 75w RMS or 1 x 200W RMS 2 x 150 W or 1 x 400 W (Max.Power) * Variable cross-over. Variable Bass Boost. Speaker Level Input Overload protection

Is 75w rms loud enough or not?

Does it sound OK or GOOD with the sub?

Is that in 1 channel mode?

Would anyone agree that that amp would be alright for what im after?

it sounds absolutely brilliant with the sub(running in bridged mpde), its got a bass boost at 45hz so the low stuff is amplified. Same with the 6x9's. i found it to be a very good amp, i bought mine second hand and its still going strong.

i personally would not touch that 1000w one that you have posted, the trouble is, when you are running 6x9's from an amp, unless it is an expensive/branded amp from my experience you tend to always get a lot of alternateur noise coming through the speakers( a whirring that goes up and down with the revs) this can be cured sometimes by adding a Ground loop isolator to your rca cables(£5 from maplin), but it is always better to get an amp with a ground loop isolator in it and even better with silent start also. The 1000w cheap ones you see tend to be very crude. i think you get much better results getting a second hand-better quality one, dont worry too much about the power, most small amps that you get will happily drive 6x9's at least. The jbl gto one i have drives my 12" sub without even warming up a great deal. This pioneer amp will be a different class to that 1000w one:

Any amp that looks too good to be true usually always is. Only EVER go by RMS ratings, never ever trust max ratings as they are just made up.

I'd go for something second hand OR one of the JBLs. Going for a known brand (kenwood, pioneer etc..) does not always mean it will be good, they have made some crap over the years.
