My beloved 1996, 1.4sx Bravo has just this moment failed its MOT. The mileage is 68K.

The reasons being:

1. Near side front strut leaking.

2. Near side rear shock absorber leaking.

The garage quoted £293.11 to fix it.

I know nothing about such things. Can anyone please advise me what would actually need to be replaced, and if the quote is a fair price.

Thanks for any advice you may be able to give,

Chris

Dont know about the strut but FIAT only charged me £68 for doing a new shocker last week after my 1.2 failed for the same

I had both rear shocks and a front strut and other jobs done last year for about £240.

You should always replace shock absorbers (dampers) in pairs. If you have a leaking damper on the front and the rear, then you should change all four.

If the price is for all 4, then I think it's reasonable. I'd check with them, or make a few calls.
