Hi,

My red paint on my stilo ive recently purchased has faded / gone orange in a few places... tops of door mirrors/ bonnet roof and boot...

rear bumper front bumper are still original colour with no fading, doors have gone slightly duller but are still red... just wondering whats the best course of action tryed using G3 paint renovator with no success other than it brought it up slightly shiner, excuse my spelling feeling abit tired...

a few of the panels whilst working on them left red residue on the rags, but the bonnet roof and boot didnt if i recall correctly so what would my best options be?

pay someone to give it a mop and hope for the best?

or if theres anyone with the portsmouth / hampshire area?

cheers

but will t cut actually work? thought it would work nicely on oxidized paint not so much on paint thats turned a different colour of is that just me being retarded cheers

I think red is the worst colour for fading.

I had a red Croma Turbo from almost new for about 18 years. Didn't use it much and it was always parked in the garage. The colour stayed bright shiney red until one year I drove it to Corfu for 6 months in the summer. When I got back to UK the roof, bonnet and tailgate were almost pink. No amount of T cutting got it back to bright shiney red.

Use a rubbing compound and if you have a was polisher maching it will be faster than to rub the whole car by hand. Did it by hand on my old white opel astra, it looked like new from having large stains on the hood and matte paint all over. I then used a light polish to give it a better shine after which i applied wax and vinyl shine on all the faded plastics. Looked really great for a old car! Well until it rusted all over that is..

Don't stay in one place too long or you might cause damage or cut too deep. It can also get to hot from the rubbing. Move it around and work the car in sections. Are alot of videos on youtube on how to do it. The materials aren't that expensive if you do it by hand.

Try the t-cut in a small area but use it in circled motions then wipe off with a dry rag. It should bring it back up.

My car came looking slightly less red than red I've bn using Turtle Wax colour magic. It does the job
