General Facelift Qubo

General Facelift Qubo

I can't remember seeing rusty driveshafts though on the last Qubo they were - also I had a flat tyre on the way home from buying the last one (from S Wales to Sheffield) and the guys I got towed to (Kwik-Fit I think) in Solihull or somewhere had to take a rubber sledgehammer to the wheel to get it off the rear hub - lot of surface rust underneath like it had been driven on a beach or maybe salty roads and never pressure washed?

I was looking at spec on the Trekking today (yours as in a facelift model) and it says the radio has a CD player! True/False? Also you get Cruise Control as standard. I had that as an option on my Fiorino and it was magic. Took the shroud off the steering column to look for the correct plug on the loom but was disappointed on this one. Such a shame it's not retro-fittable (using the Fiat system). Did you also get the satnav with yours and do you like it? Eventually got a windscreen mount for my Blue & Me TomTom and it's really low down in front of me so perhaps even better placing than the 68R socket I used to have in the middle tray.

I deliberately put on the local radio station to hear the traffic news this afternoon at the allotted time and the volume went up when it came on as it should, had it automatically switched over but despite the TA being activated on the unit I NEVER get interrupted by traffic reports where on the older radio it was all the time with stations far and wide. Don't know what's wrong with this unit. Do you think I'd get it swapped on a warranty call?

£90 for a full-size wheel with tyre, scissor jack, winder, wheel brace, bag and the underbody wheel mount setup is SO CHEAP compared to buying all the component parts! Makes a complete nonsense of the spares prices doesn't it..
I paid the £90 on my Fiorino.

Thanks for reply - did you note the rust on driveshaft? - same both sides on mine. I am trying to find a Fiorino van or Qubo post 2017 with spare wheel fitted so that I can give the reg to Fiat parts who can then get an image and part number. I am sure they did this to stop people getting old ones off ebay.

The Trekking always had a spare as standard so they have just cut costs. It is only £90 or so for the complete spare wheel kit if pre ordered before registration but afterwards as in my case as second owner that price would at least treble!

I wish I didnt like Qubo`s as Fiat are pretty unhelpful but the Qubo cars are great and the 1.3 engine is punchy and better than the 1.6 Pug diesel.

There is no sat nav or CD player on mine - think its an upgrade option rather than standard but to be honest, I have a portable satnav which I like. I miss not having a CD player but on the plus side, you can load up a micro SD card with music and its hidden behind the flap nice and neatly. Disappointing display as only shows music folders and not album covers like android systems do.

I have cruise control - never had it before, gave it a try on an A road and found it unnerving. May be better on a motorway!
