The figures for January to May this year show the two Fiats at the top of segment A sales in Europe - 92000 Pandas and 84000 500s, with the Up! (bloody stupid name) third on 43000, a slight drop in numbers for the VW while both the Fiat models showed growth from last year - by 20% in the case of the Panda allowing it to overtake the 500. I'm amused that the Toyota Aygo is fourth with almost 39000 sales - I had one as a courtesy car while the Panda's break-in damage was put right and it was the worst car I've ever driven for about thirty years. When I thanked the body shop but commented on the Aygo they agreed with me.

The newest version off the T-Jet is the T-Jet II or MultiAir.
It has 120 hp and 215 Nm of torque, it would make a very interesting Panda. ;)

But i know it will most likely never happen, certainly not with the new GSE- engine's on there way.

I agree - it's just what the Panda needs to match the old 100HP.

Yes, the old 100 hp engine will not be enough to give 319 the same performance as the 169 sport has.

Maybe the all new 1.3 GSE 4 cylinder 109 hp engine will find his way into the Panda 319.

I don't think they're even allowed to produce the 1.4 FIRE from the 100hp anymore with stricter Euro regulations. Wasn't that the cause of its demise?

Plus, now with the 500 being the main focus of Fiat (and 500L,Xtc.. lines) would Fiat really want a sporty Panda stealing the limelight? I suppose when the first 100hp came out the 169 was the main breadwinner?

Gee, I'm not sure what I should drive now, if the warmed-over Panda is meant for bearded hipsters and vacuous models who use vintage cameras with woefully short focal-length prime lenses to take images of their Panda from 300 yards away........

That said, prefer the interior.

Some hours ago i was 18th that downloaded the new and Panda dedicated Uconnect app......seems very interesting and useful.

I lol'd at the bit where she put her (round) insulated cup into the (still squircle-shaped) cup-holder between the seats. They cut before she drove off, otherwise we'd have seen it disappearing into the rear footwell.
