So I have a 2017 Ducato. (manufactured 2016 and brought in to use 2018). For reasons from another thread i'm to change engine on this one. Seeing several European trade sites which carry these engines to not so bad prices (in this case Allegro.pl) .

This is the Twin egr 131 hp engine popular from several other thread with huge problems.

Found a replacement which the seller states is from a 2020 model and with only 30000 km's and from the pictures I can clearly see the same twin egr-setup and the same cablings / channelling for exhaust and intake. Could there be anything else different between my model and this 2020? I heard somewhere that Fiat changed the model to adblue later on but I'm thinking that model would not have the twin egr's on it.

- Would it be fairly safe/suitable replacing a 2017 f1agl411D with one from 2020?

Hi

The approximate dates (depends on Country etc) are:

September 2015 to September 2019. Euro 6 2287 cc F1AGL411D Twin EGR
September 2019 onwards. Euro 6d 2184 cc Adblue

I doubt if the F1AGL411D changed mechanically over its 3 year run, but the software version may have changed. This can be updated by a dealer.

The Euro 6d engine is a different design and smaller capacity.

It was normal for motorhomes to sometime sit on dealer yards fora year or more add on 3 to 6 months at convertors and your 2020 model could have left factory 2018-19.
As an example mine left fiat nov 2016 Rapido may 2017 reg march 2018. Commercial vans would have been moved/ sold much quicker
