F1 2010 Game

Stupid bloody game! Was doing really well, was up to 7th after starting 23rd, put the primes on again so I could go longer, last corner of lap 9 my left rear bursts! Spin out of control and takes me 30 seconds to get into the pits...by which time I was 22nd :(.

Sick of pitstop glitch....go in 13th come out 24th behind everyone that pitted behind you because the lollipop man has a "no my friend after you....i insist." policy.

Boxed it tonight, too frustrated. Beautiful game, no doubt and the tracks and modelling of the cars looks top notch. No complaints on that score. It just seems rushed, unfinished and poorly tested.

The playability is there it just needs some improvements. I mean I like the fact that if you spin it is tough, rather than a simple drive through the field job and some of the car movement seems top notch. However no way should I be able to continue to lap a wet Monza with spray coming up the back on slicks at the same pace as the dry. The penalties are harsh and why do cars not adhere to the white line leaving pits they come steaming into you or slow you down- hit them and 5 place grid pens. That's before some other bugs- http://www.thegamingreview.com/2010/09/f1-2010-hit-by-major-bugs/ The cynic says is that why there was no demo?

It is also so much better with a wheel as the cars spin quite often with the pad as you can't control the throttle with the button or triggers as well esp with no aids. If you look at the videos they can feed it in progressively with the pad it is just boom and you spin or rev up.

If your thinking of buying this think carefully in my view, if you have a wheel and pedals and can live with the bugs you'll get the best out of it. I'll give it another go, no doubt but it is not a can't put down. Rating? I'd say 6/10. I'm gutted big F1 fan and was looking forward to this too. (n)

Their working on a patch so hopefully this will be sorted!

Use the flashbacks.

Bah forgot all about that!

Got my wheel today...love using it so far! Having to learn it all again though.

I've found Monaco is a complete whore.
Otherwise I'm loving it. Even got the achievement for beating either someone from the development team, or someone who has beaten someone from the development team, on my first online race. :D

Finished my first season tonight with Lotus, won the championship by 30 odd points, was 5 at Spa, winning the last 6 races helped and with Webber finishing out of the points in 2 of those. Was going to be joining Sauber or Force India for Season 2 but saw an offer from Red Bull pop up so i took it(y)

The pitlane bug just got me :bang:

First time in 9 races, so not that bad (though, have gotten so many punctures it's untrue)

Playing on expert, 100% race distance in the virgin

So far I've won 3 races (one because I didn't swap my tires after it stopped raining, managed to jump 6 cars (y)), 2 third places, a 6th and 3 at the bottom of the field. Takes me about 50 attempts at each track to get a good position lol, and if i can't keep in the lead for the first 5 laps or so, then I stand no chance of catching them.

I encountered another pitstop glitch today. Was Singapore, i was 2nd between the 2 Mclarens, Hamilton 1st and Button 3rd and behind by a couple seconds, when my pit slot came i noticed a Mclaren infront of me so thought it must be Hamilton, when he drove past me when i was in my pit box it showed up as Button and as i caught him on the track it was and Hamilton was in third as if they just switched.

Also got a puncture in the last race on the second to last lap, lucky i had a flashback left.

Re: the Pitstop bug....

This game failed on so many things when it went to Sony / Microsoft for submission....

But being as it's a AAA title and they didn't want the release delayed, they passed it, bugs 'n' all....

Brought it the day (before) it came out, played it for a whole season, soon had to limit the races to as short as possible as the monotony of driving round at the front with no fear of an overtake for 50 odd laps was silly.

The games full of bugs, the AI is more like just A (the Intelligence bit seemingly missing), the cars handle a little too arcadey for my liking, not as hard or complicated as it should be. For example, how often on a Sunday afternoon do you see a lotus stream past a McLaren into a hairpin, on the wrong line, slam the brakes on, and accelerate out faster? Never (unless your playing this game on a Sunday afternoon)

Long and short of it is, the game relies on three things: the sudden surge of F1 fans, its graphics (which in fairness are astounding) and the fact that it has no competition.

I brought it for £31.99 and traded it in Thursday for £30.00 at CEX, so not too disappointed, now on with Fifa ;)

They are releasing an update soon that should fix pretty much all of the bugs, well atleast the ones ive come across.

Online also has a couple bugs. Was doing quali online at Valencia, spun twice on the lap and it was 1:57 something but it was posted as 1:37 so i got pole by a couple seconds. The other one is sometimes if someone quits during a race where you need to pit for tires, their car keeps going straight from the garage into the pit wall and back constantly, and if your unlucky it can trap you untill it goes back, once it worked for me, the other time it worked agaisnt me.

it's not that bad  if you're breezing past better cars then your settings aren't high enough. and in terms of graphics it's not that good, the old ps3 F1 probably looks better, but is a rubbish game.

when the price drops to about £15 will get myself a copy so i can race my brothers online, but GT5 will probably be out before then.
