Technical F*&%^$£* Torx Bolts!

please dont say you've damaged the ones i sent you?

the secret with torx is to ONLY use the correct size. it needs to be a perfect fit.

Nope. I haven't damaged the ones you sent me, if i had that would mean i'd actually got the original gits out of the sod in the first place lol.
The first was a doddle, the second gave up the ghost the first time i tried to turn it and now i have something looks like a big rivet! The second is in so tight that my torx bit snapped in half! At this rate by the time i've got the bloody thing off the rest of the car will have disintegrated on the driveway lol.
Frustrating!

wow, i wonder if someone stuck them in with thread lock the last time it was taken apart? you find some people get carried away with thread lock. i tend to get carried away with copper grease, i always have a "make it easier next time" policy. on a 1.6 its always going to be worth while greasing all the bolts involved in an injector replacement. then at least next time it'll be a 20 minute job.

Finally got the barstewards off using a lump hammer and a chisel! Then the rain closed in so hoping to complete the job tomorrow:)

lump hammer and chisel, the tools of an angry man :D
And remarkably effective in the hands of a lunatic  lol.
I think i've got it worked out now, it's just trying to work between showers that's awkward (bet i've cocked it up!)
With luck will finish reassembly today, just about to start looking through the haynes to see how to bleed the fuel system, not getting my hopes up though on account of the fact that according to the Haynes the Brava doesn't have front suspension of any description, only rear:confused:
Considering they charge almost £20 a book they should really have someone proof read it to make sure they haven't missed anything.

haha! i'm sure front suspension is in my haynes. maybe you have pages missing?

you dont need to bleed the fuel system tbh, just disconnect the fuel lines and be prepared for a tiny bit of spray when the pressure is lost, although your car has stood for so long that i doubt there will be any pressure.
