Just thought I would let you guys know of my dealings with F.A.S.T. at Stockton on Tees who claim to be Fiat specialists!!!
When my car was for sale with the Garage, after a test drive it started to smoke, so they took it to F.A.S.T. for repair. They firstly did tests for the head, thinking that had gone, instead of the initial test which checks everything. Anyway, after deduction, they decided it was the pistons and went ahead and changed them. However, I have now had chance to have a quick look at them and think it was the rings personally. They took three weeks to do the work when they were only waiting for the parts for a week.
They also told me when they got my car that it was worthless, as so much had gone wrong and as a favour, offered me £3,000.00 for it – knowing fine well that the garage already had a buyer, and trying to double cross them. The reason he wanted it was of the colour – he liked it – not the fact it was worth around the £7-£8,000.00 mark.
Finally after the car had been returned to the garage, they had not fitted the electronic water injection system, but mealy left in the boot. They also had failed to connect any of the blitz boost control. As they stated it must be driven slowly for 500-1000 miles, which I agree with, but as the blitz can be turned off I could not see why, and in my opinion they have to return the car in the same condition they got it.
I have now visited F.A.S.T., and approached them on the above for their explanation, to which I received a hostile response. They could not answer any of my questions, and I even asked if they were out of their depth with the mods to the car, to which I was told to f**k off! So as you see the professional response.
So in my opinion, please use the guys recommended on here and keep well away from F.A.S.T.. Especially since these guys they have just set up, you would think they would be going that extra mile, well no they are not, well not with my car anyway! And then to receive a bill of £1,800.00 to boot. Again in my opinion they are just the same as Fait dealers - monkeys – well no, monkeys have too much intelligence and I do not want to offend monkeys!!
However I am willing to be convinced otherwise, but after their personal performance they showed me I do not think this will ever happen!!!
BEWARE is all I can say!
