Exhaust Problem.......Suggestions

Hi All

Too early for a saturday this is !!

Anyway, had my down pipe replaced last friday (1.2sx) as mine was shot...As i picked the car up and drove it away there was a whistling, really only when i went above 2000 rpm. Took it back and the guy said this is normal, and i need to accumulate a carbon build up ?? is this correct as it is still doing it, and this morning sounded like ti was blowing ever so slightly ?

Mine dosn't whistle, but then again it's covert in wrap now so that might deaden some sound.

I'm guna check my bolts this morning though, as it sounded different yesterday, but that I think is the engine since it left the garage.

My bolts on the cat flange came loose on the way to the garage though, and the car was too low for me to reach em, and that moring I'd had the car jacked, and left it at home, so couldn't get under. DOH! One had dropped off by the time I happended to reach the garage it was going to.

I have this too. its only happens between 2-3k after I had my downpipe changed...hmmm.

Did you check the connections, are the bolts tightened ok, and chect the flex pipe for leeks ?
The flex pipe can be welded in the inside wrong.
