General Estate Probs

Hi,

I have just purchased a Fiat Marea Estate (100 TD ELX) S'98.

There are a couple of problems with it though

1. The passsenger front door 'drops' when opened. It looks like the top 'hinge pin'. Are these prone to going? Are they easy to replace? If so what is involved?
2. The rear wiper doesn't work. If you switch it on at the stalk switch you can hear the relay clicking but the wiper remains stationary? Any ideas - motor / fuse / siezed? Motor easy / cheap to replace?

Bravas have the same problems, could be the contacts on the boot sill. or a faulty motor

I've taken the Wiper motor / mechanism off and it looks lijke the wiper arm spindle is seized. This then looks like it's 'cooked the electrics :-(

A complete new assembly is called for. Where is the best place to get a decent second hand unit?

I hopefully, may have found one though. I posted an enquiry on one of those salvage type sites, and got a response from a new co. just setting up called 'East Lancs Fiat Spares (ELFS)'. Very helpful girl there reckons she may have a 'new' one in stock for £65 inc postage, packing, & insurance. Not bad.

If she's true to her word, is there an area I can post her details (if she agrees), as it could be a useful contact for other people?

Can't find the damn business card he gave me, but I'm popping in to see my mate Alan at Woodcocks in Hull tomorrow and I know he has it. As for you posting details od ELFS, that would be great, I think you'll find a forum heading called Garages up near the top of the main page......
