Error reading on head unit

Hi Guys I'm new here so go easy.

I bought a Brava Yesterday from a local guy who told me that he was going to have the CD changer/stereo head unit sorted out as it seems to have locked itself down and reads "error" on the display can anyone help me or do I have to pay someone to sort this for me?

What I know is when the HU is locked it will read out CODE and when the code is in it will say SAFE, or other way round , but ERROR isnt mentioned in any guide I have.

yeah it says it all in lower case letters

I think the error is a disk read error if your using your cd changer? that or its not picking the changer up propoerly through the connection at the back?

at the moment there is no changer attached, it's the only message I get, it wont power on or off and is not asking for a code

I've sussed it, the code has been entered inaccurately 3 times
