Every so often the Mileometer / Trip display on my Marea Weekend TD100 ELX dipslays Error Cl. Or poss Error C1.

Any one any ideas. I had Fiat put the car on their diagnostic while having the filter changed but it came back with nothing.

The car has 'climate control' & Air Con.

MarkH,

Try this....

1. turn to key to MAR
2. wait about 30 seconds
3. return the key to stop
4. Test this step as described below:-

a. Set the following configuration
- temperature knob on "HI"
- distribution knob on "MAX DEF"
- ventilation knob on "0"
b. turn the key from STOP to MAR
c. within 10 seconds, turn the ventilation knob through the following sequence:
"0" - "AUTO" - "0" - "AUTO" - "0"

Pls jot down any series of display code on the control panel.

Good luck

Subija,

On the third attempt of your instructions the Mileometer reading displayed:

1st error displayed: Error Cl. (or C1.) - the dot (or half of the display height) is part of the message.
Followed by: Error 00

As it took 3 attempts to get the display to respond, I assmume that this is an intermittant error?

MarkH,

Base on your explaination, the problem is at the temperature sensor situated at the side mirror.

Check the wiring connection 1st. If okay, check the resistance of the sensor

Good Luck

subija,

I also have the same error C1 as Markh showing on dashboard.
When completing your instructions I get ' error 34 '.

Can you help with this too ?

thanks

Bene,

Code display 34 is " External temperature sensor A.C or D.C indistinguishable". The sensor located on the right door mirror. The resistance falls with temperature (R at 25 deg C = 10 Kohm, with the range operation from -30 deg C to +50 deg c.

MarkH,

Yours is probably loosen wiring.

Good luck

Subija,

I've had my local Fiat guys thoroughly check the Climate Control out.
Conclusion - intermittent fault on the external temp sensor. They've 'replaced the sensor, and made a few adjustments' whatever that means.

Only time will tell if they've cured the error message - but so far so good - i.e. no error message yet (touch wood).

Cheers.

BTW - Have you got a list of error codes there. You seem to know what all of the error codes mean?
