I have copied the below from the BOO repair guide, does anyone have any pictures or can anyone tell me where to find the 'idle air control valve'?

Cheers

Erratic Idling
Jumping revs from 850 - 2000rpm
Idle Air Control Valve
If you tap the idle air control valve (electro valve) and the revs drop back that the faulty piece is the smaller of the 2 little cylinders (2 pin electical connector). Fiat don't sell that part on it's own so you have to buy complete new unit at £140.

Or you can try taking apart the old one and cleaning all the metal pins, especially near the spring and re-trying it.
(We will try and get a bit more detail on this including a pic or two to explain this)

Ok,
This is my first Fiat, and I've only just got it so I'm a little stuck on this, lol.
I've stripped it down and had a look. The only two cylindrical things I can see are in the injector body itself. One has a plastic cover over it which looks like it holds the injector, the other has 3 bolts and looks like the fuel inlet or something. It is a 98 1.4 12 valve.
Cheers

Dunno m8 but if you don't get it repaired, decide to scrap and it's a Bravo, let me know I'll buy the gearbox ;)

Lol, thanks for the offer. I'm not gonna scrap it just yet mate, not for dodgy sensor anyway, lol.

bump

Sorry to bump this post folks, but I still need a pointer on where to find this elusive air flow thingy or it's a trip to the public library to try and borrow a Haynes manual :(

This is the Idle Control Valve on a 1.8 bravo.

Remove it by unscrewing No.2 (1 screw on each side)

Unscrew No.1 to dismantle it if you dare to do so after removing it.

You might have to force it off after unscrewing no.2's as it's stuck down with something!!

Might be an idea to disconnect the black plug on the end and cleaning the connecting pins aswell!

Hope this helps.
