Hello everyone..
Sorta new to all this but thought I'd Join to see all your reviews as i'm ordering my new punto tomorrow!! :D i'm going for the 1.4 multi air in white .. Anyone had any problems so far??

Mike.

Hi Mike, glad to have you aboard and I bet you can't wait 'til you collect the car. As the multi air technology is a pretty new concept I expected that there might have been some teething troubles but I haven't heard anybody mention any problems so far.

One word of caution, based on the experience I had with my 500 TwinAir and that is to ensure that if you ever need to top up the oil you use the correct type as the multiair actuating solenoids are controlled by the engine oil and can be affected if the wrong type is used.

Enjoy the car and once you have stopped grinning introduce yourself into the forum proper here and you will find answers to any questions you might have. (y)

Haha well i can't wait yeah! but i've got to wait 8 weeks which i know is gonna kill me test driving it one last time before i sign on the dotted line! ahh right i see i will definately look after it i actually work for arnold clark fiat in manchester in the parts dept so i often hear of people not lookin after their engines and your 500 is well smart! i looked at them actually but my insurance is £4500 - TPFT!! which obviously i cant have, did you have to wait for your car and if so how long?? :D
Mike

P.s i'm grinning like an idiot just thinkin about my new car let alone when i get it haha.

Hi Mike, well you are certainly in the right place to make sure that you get the correct parts for the car.

MY first 500, a 1.3MJT Sport was ordered as soon as they became available in late 2007 and I had to wait 16 weeks for it and it was murder waiting so I know what you will be experiencing over the next couple of months.

My second 500, a TwinAir Sport I collected on 31/12/2010 and only needed to wait 8 weeks even though the TA had just been released and it was fully loaded with practically every option. However, had a few problems, one fairly major and P/Exed it in for an Abarth 500 after a few weeks.

Luckily, I was able to get a pre reg one with all the extras I wanted from stock so no waiting at all.

Give my love to Uncle Arnie, he did me a good deal on a BLUE&ME TomTom Sat Nav for my TA, shame that the Abarth boost gauge sits where the docking port is on other 500s so it was sold on.
