Can someone point me in the direction of the Diagnostics port on a 1.2 Lounge, For the life of me cannot find it.

Cheers

To the right of the steering wheel and down. There is a panel below the dash by your right knee. Grab hold and pull down hard. It'll feel like you're going to break something but you won't. It needs a good shove to open it.

Is that a new rule? In my 2004 astra convertible it was beneath a removable panel between the handbrake and the gear lever.

In hinde site, it might even be a legislation, not sure. But I know (according to my fault code readers manual) it has to be within 15cm of the wheel, normally around/ behind that dash, often with fuses, but I suppose near handbrake could be allowed if within 15cm (direct line) of the steering wheel (y)

It was under the panel you can see in front of the handbrake handle. Def more than 15cm from the steering wheel. Rules must have changed since 2004... bloody EU lol.

OBD legislation states that the obd socket should be in view or reachable from being sat next to the car with the drivers door open - looking in! A bit silly as most manufacturers hide them behind trim

all OBD ports have to be located within 15cm of steering wheel. General rule in all cars (y)

Afraid not

Again, afraid not.

EOBD sockets should be within easy reaching distance without the removal of any trim requiring any tools.....which is rubbish because alot of cars require removal of screws (renault place in laughably underneath the handbrake/centre consul which slides back.

Reason for this is so the police can easily check for EOBD faults (emissions) which they dont do anyway so the whole thing is a bit of a joke.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply - when u say afraid not - did u mean the 'Kiwi Wifi' Product wont work with the 500? - If not, why not as I understanding the OBDII is an industry standard?

Or has no one you know tried it?

Thanks
Brad
