Hello, I am new to the forum and in need of some help! My dad owned a fiat 131 that he raced in sprints, hill climbs and oval racing. The car lay for years and I mean years (up to 15 years!). To cut a very long story short the car is now in my hands and the shell of the car is now completely done due to rot. I then transferred the 2.0 8v engine into a kp starlet. The car done roughly 4-5 meeting in the toyota starlet before it dropped a valve. It completely ruined the engine, it scored the liner of the block, put a hole through the piston and ate the head. I plan to put another twin cam in the car and was then having thoughts of putting a more modern fiat engine into it as parts may be easier sourced for it maybe? Is the older 8 valve engines similar to to more modern ones? Will I have to make a bell housing to suit the engine from the older gearbox that is still in the car?
