Technical Engine Warning Light!

Warning light came on the other night - engine suddenly started running lumpy & like a tractor. Any immediate thoughts come to mind? It's almost as if the fuel is dirty so I'm thinking maybe fuel filter or something?

check out the posts about the EGR [exhaust valve], sounds like the same symptoms.

Petrol or diesel ?
