Engine Transplants - A New Twist

Just been browsing some other forum and come across another Fiat with 200bhp. Its a Tipo 2ltr Turbo 16v.

Does anyone know whether this would be easier to transplant into the Bravo than the coupe engine or are they one of the same ?

I have seen a couple of tipos' with the 2lt 16v turbo coupe lump in it? are you aure these tipo's havent had transplants?

RE Tipo/ Coupe lumps

I think the Tipo 16V and Coupe 16V are the same unit. Same displacement- 1995 , slightly different BHP though. Which has 142 and which has 148??????
Obviously the turbo has 195.
The same lump is found in the Tempra and Croma, offering about 120 bhp (but easily turbo'ed as lower compression, just watch out for older cars that need 4 star). The Ulysse has a Pug lump.
The 1995 displacement lump is also seen in varying states of tune in: Lancia Integrale 185, 200, 210 & 215 (all turbo) BHP; Lancia Dedra 120 & 165 (turbo) BHP; Lancia Thema 150, 155, 185 (turbo) & 205 (turbo); Alfa 155 (until 1995 ironically) 143 & 190 (turbo); Alfa 164 (1993 onwards) with 148 BHP.
Hope this helps. NB the Alfa engines may be T-spark heads.

i wouldnt do this myself but if its the same engine would it theoretically possible to transplant the t-spark heads to the fiat engine??

You maybe right, i will read more closely to find out.

Oh well, just thought it may have been a cheaper option

A guy by the name of Alex who uses this forum (Tipo16v) has put the coupe 16v turbo into his Tipo
