engine temperature

Have just noticed that when driving my car it the temperature gauge never rises much. every once in a while it goes half way and the fans kick in, but thats on rare occasions.

is this a serious probelm? or could it be that theres a faulty sensor or something?

any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Worn out thermostat. Yes its a problem.

shop4parts.co.uk and order up a new thermostat. You caqn do it yourself, so long as you have a couple of hours free. Get an assortment of new jubilee clips, about 3litres of deionized water(59p a litre in asda) and about 3 litres of engine coolant/antifreeze and you're sorted.

Don't buy their 'european' parts, the quality is shocking.
