Engine Swap

I've decided i'm gonna swap my 1.2 engine for the 2.0 16v coupe engine, does anybody know who can do this near leeds area, and how much it mighrt end up costing.

I know i have to replace the breaks, suspension etc.

I know a place in Wakefield that would do it and have and exelent performance tuning pedigree in that sort of area

Is wakefield too far? and where abouts do u live in Leeds?

Hay Rob D can this place suply the bits too as I'm interested in doin somthing like this to my car but cant find the parts i have looked every where and cant get a thing oh no sorry i can the Tippo gear box lol so if they cant then i may just see if i can get my best to pick up pass in before it gets to 3500 it like all other Fiats flys at that point lol
any ideas on doin that would be great if the garage you mentioned cant suply the bits

I actually live in bradford but i work in guiseley just outside of leeds, wakefield isn't that far away if your thinking of dumping in a 2.0ltr engine

i did have quite a job finding a 16v turbo engine and wiring loom and ECU! and the wiring harness and ECU new from Fiat are about a grand,

I did find one in the end, but you find a lot of scrap yard just cut all the wires, etc.

i foud loadsa scrap yards with 20v turbo engines! lol, but like i said, the first and only 16v turbo one i found i bought!

i dont know if you couldmaybe find a 16v na engine and get all the pistons and bits from a 16v turbo and bolt them on? i know Avanti who are doing my swap had a 16v coupe they were converting to a turbo when i went down last

Anyone got any contacts for the 20v turbos scrappys? Now i got the RX7 I'm getting very tempted to put the turbo in the HGT, it feels so slow now. Not got huge amounts to spend, but if I can get the engine and six speed box at reasonable price I might try and do at least some of the work myself.

Tony at Art would expect you to supply all the parts bud.

If you really want to have the swop done your gonna have to look hard like allan said m8.

The 16v turbos are out there you just got to find them

depends

if i had just gone for the straight swap it would have cost about 3000 to 3500 dor all the parts n labour, but i have had the engine totally reconditioned, aso its nicen n shiny as new! i've had any part that is open to wear replaced, had new piston and had them heattreated to harden them, new cams - abarthones, hybrib turbo, chip, overboost kit, having the head gas flowed, got K&N n dump valve for it, and a performance clutch, so it has cost me quite a bit more, i think thats all i've had done! lol, got the full list at work, and i normally forget somethign off th elist! lol


i havent addded it all up yet, and i'm not sure i want to! lol

yeah, some people have told me bad reports about them in the past, but whenever i have gone down there and seen what thery were doing it all seemed like good work, and i've been well happy with the price and quality of parts i've bought from there before?
