engine struggling to start

When you put the ignition on should the glow plug light come on everytime, when the light comes on the van starts when it doesn't it wont, also when the light does come on it comes on for only half a second not the 4 seconds that everyone is on about I have changed the glow plug relay got it off ebay and the problem is still there if the light is suppose to come on every time them the part I got is obviously faulty too. all assistance appreciated

Hi,
if the light doesn't come on.. then it's not warming the plugs..
hence the no start,

try turning ignition on + off a few times.. see if it's just fussy..

probably a poor earth issue..??,

Ignore the light - just use your ears.

When you get in, turn the ignition on and listen......you will hear a cick as the relay kicks off - now start with ease! Lights never really stay on long enough - they are more of a reminder than a gauge.
