First impressions look okay, but you need it in the car with everything attached to say for certain really.

well, i need a straight answer, because once engine is inside the car , you won;t be able to see anything except the top of the engine, so this is the reason i ask questions now
 
ovi, mk1 kid, along with the rest of us, can only give an idea based on what we can see, there's no substitute for actual hands on, in front of you.

until its back in the car, and connected up, thats all we can give, it may yet require a few in and outs of the engine to get it spot on, even the experts don't always get it 100% right 100% of the time..

i would suggest that using the workshop manual, you go over everything again, and in the waiting engine bay, put them together, and go over it again, and then one more time, if you have missed anything, it's generally the small stuff that make you go "doh"
 
well, the thing is ...i am going to put that engine into x1/9. there the space is very small, and i would not be able to make experiments, I have to put all in it's place before i put the engine into the car, I olso have to see what i have to adapt/modify to make the engine fit into x1/9 enginebay please look carefull at the pictures and let me know if you see any pipe/tube mount in a wrong place.THANK YOU

I suggest you post in the X1/9 section. This conversion has been done a few times, and members there might be of help.

no, i need uno turbo specialist advice. I'll do the rest as i think is best. I don't want to copy from others anything. is my project and i wanna do it alone :)
 
well there's only so many ways you can fit a large lump of metal into a small space, unless you're going radical and putting it in lengthways, it's gonna be pretty much like every other uno turbo/x19 transplant (by try cascu, theyve done loads of swaps)
 
I have an idea!

Why dont you look at lots of pictures of complete engines, there are tonnes on the internet and stand in front of yours, comparing the two.

Its best to look at a diagram (again on the internet search) and look at what you know is 100% right rather than play an almost impossible game of spot the difference!

There is only one way to fit a UnoT engine in a X1/9 and ive seen a few and that is the correct way. Other people got it wrong until they follow suit. Not only have you a problem fitting it all inside the engine bay, but you also have heat retention to worry about. You need to deal with this. The pipes you have for the Uno, will not necessary be any good for the X1/9 anyway as some of the components need to be moved. It is not straight forward, and remember, the car needs strengthening before you transplant as it will be around 20 years old or older. If you still want to do it your way, then i see you wasting a lot of time and effort. You can still put your signature on the project once engine is in though. Thats what i would do and i strongly advice you to do it also.

I did alot of reading on the UT into x transplant. right now i am in a point with a simple problem, and i would like some simple questions. ALL i need to know is: Did I plugged in all the pipes corectly? all pipes are in place it should be ? this engine have nothing to do with x1/9, is a uno turbo engine and before i have to think what to modify, i have to make sure everything is its place as in uno turbo, so i can understand each pipe what is doing, then i will worry about the fitting into x. however, true, lots of x engine swap pages, but NONE , and i mean NONE is a step by step instructions, to follow, so , in my opinion most are useless for a non-mechanic boy like me. THANK YOU all for answers, and if some1 want to tell me if i plugged in corectly the pipes i would appreciate it.

OK, pipes look ok to me. Remember you have oil, air and coolant pipes, so just follow the circuits. The pipes are shaped, so its difficult to go wrong. In future, take photos and sketches and mark the pipes, so you know where it all goes back, and bag all the fasteners and label them to make the job easy. Ive done the same trick and removed a load of pipe work then spent ages working it all out. We all learn, but in the end, its all part of working on your own car. Hope your project goes well.

6" to the right, i the direction the end of that metal pipe (first pic) points to is your choke. It has the same diameter metal in/outlet facing it, so you need a straight 6" pipe to go between the two. How hard are you looking?

OK, this pipe (as Tom said) is for the Auxiliary Air Valve (to give it the proper name, rather than 'choke' ;))

The Auxiliary Air Valve is a bimetallic-spring device that opens when the engine is cold and closes by a combination of engine heat and the electric heating provided by a small heater wire inside the valve. The air flows from the metal pipe you have arrowed, through the valve, and into the intake manifold housing. Effectively, this airflow bypasses the throttle valve and increases the engine idle speed. The airflow meter (at the beginning of the system, after the air filter) will detect the additional airflow and allow the injection system to add a little more fuel.

The content of this article has been shamelessly stolen from the Uno Turbo club of South Africa; sadly I can't find the original page any more. Anyway the diagram with all the brightly-coloured pipes should help you out.

I feel that you are a little uneasy about how these pipes function? It seems that you are installing an engine in a conversion without knowing how it all works and getting tetchy when others here refuse to promise that it will all work correctly. I think your second question was much more relevant and useful. Good luck with the conversion!

All pipes look correct. The twin "T" joint on the booster hose goes to the blow off valve and ECU/boost gauge
