i have a 98 bravo 1.4sx.last october i had some engine modifications done,(k&nfilter,superchip,jetex exhaust)
my car was running great what ever the weather, until last month.in cold or damp weather the engine is sluggish and judders when ticking over this lasts for about 10 minutes until its got warm though i noticed an increse in fuel consumption during normal running.
i checked the plugs which were sooty so i thought i'd take it in to the local fiat dealers.they put it on the diagnostics machine and found no faults.they told me it could be the air filter freezing the fuel which i told them was stupid as i had been running the car in a lot colder weather the month before with no problems,so they said the chip might be at fault so i took it to the superchip dealers and they checked the chip which they said was fine.i had the car retuned and plugs replaced with splitfires.the mixture now looks right(no more soot)but i still have the cold running problem.
has anyone had anything like this with their bravo whether it is chipped or not, please help!!

cant be!!

sergio thanks for the reply,
the problem is i did not have any touble during october through to december and the weather was colder then ,surely other people with k&n filters would have the same trouble?

help,help,help!!!

now warmer weather has hit our shores i'm still having the same trouble as in my last letter so it cant be anything to do with outside temerature.its still running like a diesel tractor until the engine gets really warm, any ideas anyone, please

I know it sounds daft!

Could it be your thermostat? Mine was similar to yours & it finally died on me. Its now in the Garage being replaced. But I had loss of power for a while.
