My car is Punto S60 1999 T Reg. While driving for about 20mins, the temperature light glows red(there is no temp gauge on the dashboard). Thermostat seems okay coz both the hoses connected to the radiator is hot. there is no mayonaise like buit in the oil filler cap nor oil mixture in the coolant tank. I am assuming its the temp sensor. do u have any idea where it is located (is it the blue color plug near the thermostat housing) and if so how to change it. or could it be something else?

Few ?'s. Does the fan come on? When was the coolant changed last? Have you physically checked the thermostat? It may have hot pipes on either side but if its not fully opening it won't be doing its job.
