I have a 2006 GP 1.9Mjt with 26,000 miles on the clock.
Poor running so i have had a new EGR and air filter sensors fitted.

It has altered the performance considerably but it still feels like its running to rich. i.e it judders in second and still feels if it misses a beat when you idle at 50mph then accelerate, a bit lumpy and feels as if it wants to run away?

Im averaging around 31mpg around town, is this the norm or is this a poor return.
Do i bite the bullet and take it into a Fiat garage as my local garage have been really good and re set the managemnet system and it did run perfectly for a couple of days then it has returned to its present state.

Any info or simular expieriences much appreciated.
lennie.

Your mpg is a bit low to be honest, i am getting about 37 around town at the moment partly due to the cold weather and partly due to winter diesal. If you have found a good independant garage i would stick with them fiat will charge you the earth just to interagate the ecu let alone do anything to the car.

One thing you could try is if the egr was blocked and the engine has been running rich is to fill it up add some injector cleaner to the fuel and take it for a really good run and give it a good blow out clean all the crap out of your engine and DPF. Carbon deposits in your engine will do your mgp no good at all. Mine always runs better after i have put a few hundred miles under the bonnet on a good run.

Thanks to everyone it has really helped i will get the battery and alternator checked.
took it out for a longer run today and it ran like a dream, perfect didnt miss a beat. I just need to get the steering sorted so im confident about it as its my sons car and i dont wont the steeering problem happenoing while he is driving it. Thanks once again, a great forum.
