Engine Management Light -Panda

[Big Fiat and Little Fiat]

Currently in the middle of France in my 2013 Panda 4x4 1.3 Multijet 700 miles completed.Been running spot on since purchase last month But filled up for the first time at a French filling station and straight away engine management has come on and stayed on.Its gone through 2 fill ups in the UK no problems .Panda runs ok , done another 300 miles today BUT the light will not go out .Is this related to the French fuel ? and can I just disconnected the battery to reset ?

ps.All my other Pandas have enjoyed coming to France , no problems.

Check you haven't put the wrong fuel in it.

Should be on the receipt whether it's petrol or diesel. Or smell in the filler neck to the tank.

Most difinatley diesel , as I spilt it over myself .Still getting used to the new type filler neck on the Panda.On that subject doesn't French/European diesel have a high ethanol content ?

I've no idea on that. I drive through France to Greece, Bulgaria and Romania every year in my Stilo. It's never been a problem with whatever diesel I put in it.

Does the Panda have a "water in fuel" warning light? Perhaps you got contaminated fuel.
