Engine management light..HELLP

Engine management light has come on, flashing rather than solid. The car is juddering and won't go above 40mph. Can anyone suggest a cause before i have to go and get a diag done??

check that all ur sensors are connected and are not lose thats all i can think of with what u have given us

does it flash all the time or only flash when you put your foot on the accelerator?

if its the latter one of the injectors may have failed or you've got a fuel blockage perhaps..

big things happened this weekend

nah i'm putting the post up as she can't get on the forum atm.

Apparently the light goes on when she accelerates. it's at the garage now tho...

Just left it at the garage. Thanks for helping Ed and thanks everyone for your ideas. i just hope its not gonna cost too much.

well theyve had it 6 hours now and all they have done is driven it into the garage. Ive probably doubled the cost cos i had a mini rant telling them if they didnt have time to look at it today they shouldnt have told me to bring it in and i could have taken it to some where that could look at it today. Anyway they will ring me tomorrow but im working 8-8 so it'l prob be wednesday before i get it back

Sounds like its in spaz (safety) mode due to a fault on one of the sensors. Diag should show what's up with it.

if they dont look at it tomorrow then i'll get dad or mark to go get it and i'll take it somewhere else wednesday. ive had a really rubbish day first my car went wrong and they were to busy to fix it, then my friend phoned upset cos his grandads really ill so ive spent a few hours with him and annoyed stuart for some reason so hes not talking to me then i put lasagne in the microwave and that broke so i went to put it in the oven, it was hot and splat. i give up today i hope tomorrows better, it is looking up a bit 24 hours with lee ryan was on at 10 and now die hard is on so if things keep like this everything should be fine tomorrow
