Technical engine light????

the other day car started making a strange knocking turned out to be the tensioner and timing belt so had these changed along with the water pump now the car makes a strange whirring sound been assured over and over again that this sometimes happens with new belts and it will go this was saturday today the check engine light came on and stayed on for several miles! i turned the car off a number of times and then all of a sudden the light wasnt on any more any ideas please the car has only just come out of garage i dont ave any more cash for it to go back! thanks x

In my experience it doesn't happen unless something is wrong. (Likeliest cause is wrong tension or even wrong belt.)

Let people know where you are and someone may come out and have a look/listen. But I'd take it back and get them to do a free code read.

where are you Kath
There maybe a member near you with a registered or even a free version of Mes who can just diagnose the car for you - what the ECU thinks is wrong

Its a 5min thing, if you were local to me i would do it for you
