Hi , I was attempting to install a tuneing remap box to give more power and economy but i connected to the wrong plug. i removed it and connected back as it was before but the engine warning light is now on. the car runs fine so is there anyway to reset this light myself. the message that shows says engine control problem. any advice welcome thanks richie 9870.

the reason the light is on is that the ECU has stored a code in it's memory and the only way to turn the light off is to clear the code...either take it Stealer/ garage with code reader or buy one of the fault code readers readily available on E-bay Etc (£25). just make sure the reader works with your car and is capable of deleting codes....search this forum for code readers for more details.
hope this helps.

If the fault is transient, the code should disappear after 3 starts.
If it doesn't clear then the fault is still present which will need a diagnostic to find out what the fault is, you can clear faults by disconnecting the battery overnight, however make SURE you have your radio code if you do!
