when I get to 80 my engine management light comes on and I go into crawl home mode.when i stop and restart it goes off. no problems if I stick to 70 or under
Diesel or petrol? Does it do the same thing in lower gears (i.e. same revs but less road speed)?
If it's a diesel - if the light comes on at or around 3000rpm at full throttle, it could well be the MAP sensor. One socket hex screw to remove from around the back of the engine head, then pull it away. Carefully clean the soot out from inside it - don't use a screwdriver but something like brake cleaner spray may help - dry it out, refit, reset dash fault code, try taking it back past 3000rpm. If it still does it, check that the thin red pipe that connects to it doesn't have any holes and that it's fully pushed into the rubber hose at its' lower end. Check that same rubber hose piece for splits where the two meet.
I spent £50 replacing the MAP sensor only to find I still had the fault. Cut a new piece of rubber hose from and old carb and replaced that, problem cured. Cost to fix - 0p, plus of course the £50 for me being a kn*bhead :bang:
