Technical Engine light flashing but no codes ... :(

Hi,

my lovely mk2 1.2 8v has developed a new symptom now. Check engine is constantly blinking when engine is running, but OBD (with multiecuscan and VAG KKL USB) shows no codes at all. Has anyone seen this before?
History on this is that it had a random misfire (p0300 or whatever it is) previously on load (driving over 120km/h), changed plugs, leads, packs and then one day it didn't start. checked everything possible from electrical side, then somehow it started and seems to run OK now (+ starts every time), but now check engine is blinking all the time.

Any ideas?

Usually,if crank pulley has been disturbed,in needs to self learn. Get engine hot,and at idle,Rev engine three times just short of max revs, let idle between each Rev.

worth a try.., but the MES software should help with any phonic wheel , etc relearns,

Aha ... So that is the CKP relearn ... Thanks! I will try that. But why is there no code? Or is it so that I need to change my OBD tester?

N code will be set if relearn is needed

Something drastic is needed to cause that
Never set it off on my own tbh....

Hi,

Big thanks for help and advice!

Re-learning procedure helped. Warmed up the engine, revvvved it up to 5000 or more (no tacho on the dash, so just using my ears) 3 times with a few seconds delay in between. The bloody light went off. Restarted the engine -> no Check Engine Light. )) Yeeehaaa!
