General Engine lid lock fitting

Hi chaps.

Sorry for the noob post, but I am having trouble figuring out how to fit the engine lock to the lid as it wasn’t on the car when I purchased it.

Does anyone have a pic of the back of the lock or can advised on which way round the metal holding clip and catch go, as I can’t seem to figure it out?!

I have attached a picture of the lock I have.
