engine difference between 99-00 bravos?

im about 2 buy a 2nd hand bravo sx 1.6 for my brother.but ive heard about that after 1999 fiat changed the emission standarts so a 1999 model bravo can beat a 2000 one(talkin about unmodiefied ones).is there anyone who can help me or can say me an url for official engine charecteristics of each model...

Mark 1 (1.6 and 1.8) and mark 2 (1.6 and 1.8) seem to be identical in terms of power output, peak power, top speed, 0-60 so I guess there is no difference. Altho, some1 on here once said that the power curves were different.....however, I've never noticed any difference in acceleration between the marks. (The mark 2 1.6 does do more MPG apparently tho).

The Mk.2 engines have Bosch fuel injection as opposed to Magnetti Marelli. Apparent for greater reliability, so my Fiat specialist tells me.
