I bought a 56 plat Fiat Doblo on the weekend and have had issues with the engine cutting out. There is no splutter like a usual experience when stalling my petrol car and no warning lights come on, I only know it's cut out due to the loss of power steering.

It has happened 3 times since I have had the van and cannot suss out if I'm just 'silently' stalling it or if there is a fault of some sort.

It will restart instantly and then run fine apart for the revs bouncing when first started and idling

Had any one has any similar experiencing or can it be put down to user error and not being used to driving a diesel?

I had a 05 Doblo 1.9 JTD that died when hot, cooled down for ten minutes and restarted, when I got home I read the error codes and it was the crank shaft position sensor which I replaced and cured the issue.
Apart from that check all wiring connections, if possible give a wriggle when engine running and you may see fault show up.:)
