Hi, My year old Qubo engine cooling fan will occasionally operate when the engine is cold or cool. This is completely random and without any logical explanation. I first noticed this during the very cold weather at the end of last year and reported the occurrences when the car went in for its first year service. The technicians could find no fault and the ECU had no faults to report. Typically this happens after a short distance, if the engine is stopped and restarted the fan does not restart but when the fan is operating the automatic start/stop is disabled. The first time I noticed the fan operating, when I would not have expected it to, it actually stopped when I was caught up in heavy, stop/go traffic, when I would expect it to operate.

Has anyone else had a similar problem or any idea of the cause?

Thank you, checked the information on DPF in the owners manual and this is the most likely cause. I am afraid I did not notice the amber warning light that should also have been showing. Thanks once again.
