Sorry if this is a repost or useless. But I was using Autoglym tyre Dressing the other day, and on the back it said it could be used on engine components and paintwork. So I gave it a go. It's now cleaner than when we bought it:

Looks nice that did you use a high presure washer has well.
 
hi looking sound that... i used some oven cleaner and left it over night and then sprayed it of and then used wd40 and mine looked new aswell only thing was went over the body n left streaks so then had to wash it all :(



 
Every now and again I use Meguires degreaser on the engine bay, cover it and leave for 5 minuets, then hose off, cover it in a light haze of Autoglym's Vinyl and Rubber care run the engine for 20mins and it looks brand new show car condition for very little money/effort :)
