Well after months of agro triangle eml, throttle relearns, new pedal and limp mode galore, culminating in one yesterday stuck in traffic , i think i've had my eureka moment, on checking continuity on the ecu small plug wires to the throttle body the multimeter was jumping all over the place when i wiggled the wires going in to it so its a bad connection in there was worth the price of some back probes but ran out of time for further inspection, so i think i'm in the ballpark at last..

I think this post could fit in the "What made you smile today" threat 😁
Congrats on finding it!

As is so often the case… a ‘mechanical’ failure (loose wire, corroded contacts etc) seems (along with low battery health) to be the single biggest cause of fault codes and the engine warning light. Well done for finding it.

After a 500 miles drive back from France today, 3 miles from home the Triangle ! illuminated !! Stopped and restarted and it's gone away 👍. I'll do a scan tomorow to see if anything is there.

Usually it shows a message on the digital display too (eg ‘Check number plate light’)… I believe the only time it doesn’t is if the earth to the oil pressure sensor (on a TwinAir) is comprised.

Mine came on and usual no stop start, no esc, no hill assist, and limp mode been doing it on and off for 3 months, i think i'm in the ball park which with electrics is 90% of the problem, for now i have cleaned up the connection and so far so good, as said my ebay 6.99 back probes are already starting to earn there keep, getting a new 115 fluke multimeter tomorrow my kewtech is on its way out, work are paying for it to replace my kewtech multimeter which is a bonus 😄

What are the 6.99 back probs?

You can push the probe into the back of the connector plug without having to take the plug apart for test voltage, continuity etc, if you have a look on youtube you will get the general idea of what there used for

Yeap!, Triangle appeared again today and dash briefly showed "Check Number plate light" I was looking this time as it appeared, dodgy connectioni t's ok now again.

Which is why when you put led bulbs in as i tried for stop/tail bulb it throws a code as led draws a low resistance, worked in my daylights tho😁
The system looks for ‘the right resistance’ from the bulbs. A corroded contact or the wrong wattage bulb can show the error, as well as a blown bulb. Often just wiggling the bulb is enough to cure it.
