hi everyone,
a few weeks ago on my way back from work my heater decided to pack up, i opened the fuse box and sure enough a fuse had blown, i changed it and all was well.

A few days later the same thing happened again, but this time when i changed the fuse, nothing happened. then today on my way back from work the windscreen wippers, wasshers, rear wipper, stoped working. i understand that there is one fuse that controls all off this but when i looked the fuse was in tact, any idea guy what could be wrong with my bravo?
cheers

within 5 min you will have 15 posts telling you its the stalks.

so start there :)

Where can i get hold of some stalks, and what exsacly are they. also is it somthing i can change myself. and does it go wrong alot on bravos.
Cheers

Do a search of the forum, It has been discussed in detail several times.

The stalk is the thing that you use to turn on your wipers.

Apart from the heater, all the things you mention that aren't working are located on the one stalk.

Might just be coincidence.

Also have you changed the fuse for another as it may look ok but may still be blown.

From looking at the forum, i dont think im goin to be able to fix it myself. it seems like a major job, and still doesnt explain the heater, say it was a new stalk, how much do u recon i would be lookin got get it fixed

sorry chap I have no idea on the price????

The heater seems to be on the same circuit, so if the fault is with the stalk and it knocks the fuse out it would take the heater with it.

When you first noticed the problem, did you have the wipers etc still working?

Replace the fuse, don't turn the heater on and see if you can get the wipers working. If they work, turn the heater on and see if it knackers up again. That should tell you where the problem lies.

the fist time the heaters went, the wipers still worked, even when the heaters went the second, time, ive given the heaters and wippers some fresh fuses, but still no luck, i think i may have to take it to a garage or somthing, unless anyone has any ideas on the fourum, cheers for your help steve

Just drove my bravo again, and im now finding that the main beem and the full headlights have gone, as well as the rear heated windscreen. Any other ideas guys of things it could be or has anyone had a simular experence?
cheers
