Hi all, I have a 1992 Hymer Tramp camper on a 2.5TD Ducato chassis , when I leave it for any length of time the battery goes flat , the battery and alternator have been tested and are good , when I take the positive lead off the battery with everything switched off there is a small spark ,when I take the last 2 fuses out of the fuse panel on the left hand side there is no spark ,has anyone any ideas what they are for and what the problem might be please, as I only have a German customer hand book

Thanks in advarnce French Mike

Its almost certainly not a Fiat issue. And if its anything like later model conversions, then the fuse panel has nothing to do with the Hymer part. There is likely to be additional wiring connecting the vehicle battery to the Hymer fridge (is it a 3-way one that runs off the alternator when travelling?) or to other parts of the Hymer conversion. Look for those and check.

Use a multimeter set to 10 A current and put it in series with the vehicle battery and do your tests. Sparks can mean nothing more than a capacitor charging, rather than an ongoing current drain.

Thanks Peter, I will have a good look round and do a test as you say
