Hi All

I'm writing a few of my car's electrical niggles, in the hope that others have had them and can tell me if it's normal, or a problem to be solved (should be a laugh!).

1. Rain Sensor Sensitivity - even on Max Sensitivity the screen can get quite covered in rain before it gets wiped. Is there anything I can do? (can Fiat make it EVEN MORE sensitive?).

2. External Temperature Gauge - it sometimes doesnt change until the engine is switched off, then the ignition switched on, where it can jump a few degrees. However, it did go from 5.5C to 6.0C today whilst driving. It came up with -5C in July on the first day I bought it - my dealer said it was taking too long to alter its temperature, so they put a new sensor on it. I'm not too sure it has worked.

3. Drivers Side Electric Window - sometimes it can stop mid-motion on the one-touch. It doesnt then go back down, so its not the anti-obstruction sensor giving false signals. It can also stick sometimes too, meaning you need to press the switch several times to make it go up.

4. Deterrent LED - I've once seen it flashing whilst driving (all doors unlocked), and my dad says he's been out to the car and it hasn't been flashing. It didn't when I bought the car - they fixed it without putting a new LED in it, but have since replaced the door trim, hence a new LED is there.

I think thats all! Oh, and my car booms when Air-Recirc is on when on Face Vents and high fan speeds. Any ideas?

Thanks!

1. I always use the mk1 eyeball with switch finger attachment. Never had any problems with that.

2. Is broke.

3. Mine does that sometimes. Think it gets confused as to where it is, if you find the problem let me know. :D

4. Mine keeps unlocking in the middle of the night. Driving me crazy, can I really be forgetting to lock it 3 times a week?

Sonic booms? Stick a sock in it, (but not one of steveyensons), and don't put it on those settings.

Hope that has helped.:D;)

Got more additives than fuel in my tank.

I have heard of the locking fault before. I've heard of people replacing the drivers door node, for that fault.

Hey Guys

Thanks for your responses. Because I am very bored, I just tested the temperature gauge - I got a very hot cloth (poured boiling water on it) and held it up to the sensors on both mirrors. It started off at 5C, and stayed there. When I turned the ignition off, then on again, it immediately jumped to 8.5C.

Polecat, when you say "it unlocks itself", do you mean the drivers door or the entire car?

Fiatexpert, what does a "Door Node" do? Would that be causing all of my other problems on the drivers door?

Thanks

I had the same problem with the wipers on my car when it was first delivered. It took 3 visits to the dealer to find the problem. My wipers would only activate once the screen was completely covered in water. They found that the sensor behind the mirror had delaminated from the glass. First attempt to "Glue" it back did not work. They had an Auto Glass company to come in and re-attach it. Has worked fine ever since

Hi FiatFamily

Funny you should say that - my sensor slightly looks like its coming off, must get it checked.
