Sounds like one of the main fuses lost contact, or your alternator lost curent.
Check the fuses - main ones under the bonet and the voltage on the batt when the car is running

Tried all that! Everything is alright, checked every fuse, underneath the steering wheel, under the bonnet and even pulled out the glovebox and checked those ones. I've lost the dash lights (including speedo re counter fuel and tmep gauge and milometer) brake lights indicators hazards but the main and dipped beam still work. And it starts and stops.

I'm stumped.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

re

sounds very weird!!

only obvious thign i can think of is there isnt a lead come off the battery? i knwo its not just one positive lead?

if you have a multimeter behind dash has anythgin got power at all?

Not a sausage. I'm absolutley stumped. Weird thing is my stereo(which is acting as if its off) will open out (its got a folding front) which leads me to beleive that its igniton power thats gone cos all the things that have gone off are ignition related (need power from there). ANy one with any ideas at all please help!#

Yup car still drove but lost dash power and indicators, radio still worked because it has a different fuse location (fuse 3). Just double check and change it see if it makes a difference

re

it definatley soudns ignition related then, as your radio would have a constant live hence the power.

if you put on hazards i guess they work too as they are none ignition related?

it definately sounds like a fuse somewhere as above, i'd doubel check, and mayeb replace some anyway!

Ah, well this might throw a spanner in the works..... hazard doesn't work. only things that do are headlights and the fan (interior). I'm just goignt ohave a nose around the fusebox now.

Check the earth that is on the down part of the gear box (clean it), clean the poles of the battery and do measure the batt voltage.
* push the back connectors on the fuse plates right of the steering wheel. They tend to disconnect a bit when there is wibration
