Hi,
Have a 2016 Fiat 500x diesel auto UK. All of a sudden having electrical issues - first the rear left indicator/brake/reverse light was intermittently not working, unit was replaced as one connector pin was melted but was still getting check message for them all on dashboard and only indicator coming on. Then the aircon and cigarette lighter weren’t working. I’m sure at some point the mechanic said car wasn’t earthed. Mechanic changed the BCM as said it had gone which fixed the light issue but still getting an error about short circuit for aircon (code b1919-14), and they’ve spent time checking wiring etc but can’t work out why so returning the car (fair enough). Only issue have ever had before is engine warning light but been checked so many times and told no issue with engine, but I noticed the ambient temp sensor doesn’t work (shows around 54 degrees celsius!), code P0115 engine light warning, seems to disappear in warm weather sometimes.

Anyone had similar with the aircon short circuit error and fixed it or have any suggestions? Keen to try and get fixed especially as already spent so much money on work to try fix it so far.

Also looking for recommendations in Glasgow Scotland (or surrounding) for somewhere to take it. Thanks

With that many separate issues I’d start by checking all earth straps/points. It’s getting to that age where things start to corrode

This is how bad ground cables and connections can get (from a recent post)

I have read elsewhere that problems with the ambient temp sensor can cause problems with the air conditioning.

Absolutely.

The external sensor in the wing mirror is pretty crucial to how the car operates. I can't recall all the specifics (long time ago) but I do recall there were a variety of side issues due to this incorrect temperature sensor reading.

Thanks all for the input, appreciate it. Will hopefully find somewhere to have a check of the earth straps and run through that checklist - really useful, thanks very much.

Definitely at the age where everything corrodes - just got all the alloys fixed too as they were!

Said was a few things so I’m not sure exactly (would share if knew incase helpful for anyone else), but said had put in a new earth strap already and then also a new regulator.
