Both electric mirrors don't work. There are no blown fuses. With a multimeter, I can find 12v on one of the pins of the plug. I wouldn't expect both mirrors to totally fail (but I guess it's possible) so anyone any ideas what I can check? I suppose the switch itself might be suspect?

Hello,

Attached eLearn docs for mirrors adjustment + demisting, it seems there are two independent systems.

Well I removed the switch, and tested it with a multimeter. Referring to the wiring diagram, I can only get continuity between two of the pins. I dismantled the switch and cleaned it up, but it made no difference. I think it's kaput.

I was wrong when I said no fuses blown. Fuse 51 had gone. Now the left side (drivers side in UK) mirrors work, but the right side doesn't, and the sunroof opens and closes (albeit with a bit of help). After playing with them for a while, the fuse blew again. Looking at the electrical schematic, it seems that the fise should be a 7.5A, but a 5A was fitted. I'll fish out the correct fuse tomorrow, and give it another try. Oh, and it's fuse 51 that had blown.

Replacing fuse 51 didn't help. It blew again. I've taken off both mirrors, and lubed the motors. I also noticed that for some reason, the passenger side motors had been disconnected. I reconnected them after lubing, and they work fine. It seems to be the drivers side that is faulty. I have a feeling that one of the motors is just drawing too much current. The replacement modules, with the two motors fitted aren't too expensive, so it looks like I'll have to get a new one.
