Technical EGR Valve

The egr on my bravo has packed in.
I have to buy a new but they're kind of expensive.
I was wondering if I could use one from a vauxhall seen as though some of them use the same engine, and they seem to be much cheaper? And if so, which vauxhall would I have to get it from?

The 1.9/16v 150 has a 55215031 EGR valve (the 8v is different).

I believe the 1.9 was developed by Alfa & GM – so it shouldn’t matter whether you find a Alfa, FIAT, Saab or GM unit.
Ideally, get one with the restrictor (or swirl) gasket.

If you search `55215031’ (& `55225287’) then you’ll find more than enough knowledge on the topic.

how has it failed ?
vauxhall you used to drill a little hole and push the pin out give it a good clean up and it would work again
